The weekend of the 4th, Ty had a softball tournament in Burkesville, KY. He asked me to come along, so being the good supportive girlfriend that I am, I went. :) No, I really do enjoy going and I haven't been to a tournament yet this year, so I was excited to go. I still hadn't gotten my birthday present and really thought that it might be a ring, but Ty and Tonya tried really hard (and succeeded, sort of) to convince me that it wasn't, so I wasn't expecting anything to happen while we were gone at all. The tournament was really fun and I met a few new girls, so hanging out with the girls and having a few beverages while watching the games (mostly in the rain) made it a little more enjoyable. After 1 game Friday night, 3 games Saturday and 4 more games on Sunday, Ty's team won the tournament! Yay! So pretty much as soon as they walked off the field, got their Champion hoodies and took a picture with the trophy, Ty ran and got the car in the rain and pulled around to pick me up so we could drive about 3 hours back to Owensboro because he had to work that night.
So we get back in town and I needed to unpack then pack again because I was going to go to Evansville for the night to stay at my parents house so I could go up to the hospital to see my cousin Heather. Before I left I was upstairs on the computer and Ty came up to ask me what I was doing and I told him I was updating my status on Facebook. He asked what it said and I told him and he said "Is that all?" I said, "Yep" and got up and walked downstairs to the kitchen. I was getting something out of my purse and apparently he had followed me in there and was standing behind me, but I had no idea. So I walked over to a bag I had on the floor to get my camera and when I turned around to go put it in my purse, he was standing right there. I think he said my name, but I really don't even remember now. But I know he had a huge smile on his face and had is hands kind of together down in front of him, so I look down and that's when I see a little black box in his hand. I immediately get tears in my eyes and say SHUT UP about 10 times and Are you serious? Then he gets down on one knee and opens the box and says, "Lindsay, will you marry me?" :) It was perfect!! I said YES! about a million times and hug him and kiss him and then take the ring out of the box and put it on, shaking the whole time! I was so shocked and suprised and excited! AND he got me a ring that I had picked out forever ago and emailed to him! I never expected to get THAT ring!! It's beautiful!! And I'm incredibly excited and can't wait to be a wife!!! :)
