Saturday.

Well this past Saturday, with 5 of my bridesmaids, my 2 junior bridesmaids, my mom and my future mother-in-law in tow, we went DRESS SHOPPING!!!

We started in Newburgh at Ella Park which is an absolutely gorgeous boutique! The lady that helped us was super nice and I just loved the place. Found a few dresses that I liked, but nothing that I fell in LOVE with. There is one dress that they are getting that I am dying to try on, so as soon as that comes in I'm going over there to try that sucker on!! I want to see it on so bad!!! I really, really like it in the picture, so i'm hoping i'm going to like it on...but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Since I had so many people come with me and a couple of them drive a couple hours just to come, I wanted to do something to thank them. So I made some sugar cookies in the shapes of wedding gowns and a cake. :) I also gave them all a card and wrote them each a personal message. I think they all liked it. :)

After leaving Ella Park, we went to Memories in the Making. I tried on quite a few there and there were some that I like there as well...but nothing that just came out and really grabbed me and felt like this was the ONE that I had to wear to walk down the aisle and marry Ty. I just never got that feeling. I really hope I do, but I'm really scared that I won't...ugh. oh well. I still have some time.

(This was a dress that I totally just tried on for fun. Not even close to anything that I like. We called this the Holly Hobby dress. I showed it to Ty and he was NOT a fan. haha)

We also tried to pick out a bridesmaid dress for the girls, but it's not so much an easy task when you want a taffeta dress, in charcoal grey, with a little bit of a sweetheart neckline, rouching across the stomach and a lace up back. haha. My only request are that they are charcoal taffeta and the girls are comfortable in them...Krystal pretty much requested the rest. haha J/K Krystal. :) love you!!

All in all, it might not have been a "successful" day, but it was definitely a GREAT day!!! I had a blast and can't wait to go and find my dress soon!!!! :)

Guest Bedroom Table

So, I've been wanting to get a night stand for the guest bedroom for a while now, but I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on one either. I would look on craigslist all the time, but I just never found anything.

My mom told me to go to Bed, Bath and Beyond and get one of those little round side wooden tables and a table cloth and be done with it, so that's what I did. Only cost me like $16 too!! Woo hoo!

So, I got the tablecloth washed and ironed and set that all up and needed to put some stuff on it. Our neighbor gave us an old lamp that is a pretty little brass lamp. I know it's so pretty just the way it is, but I decided I should paint it.

So, I went to Walmart and picked up some black spray paint. And here's the end product! I think it turned out pretty good. It's not perfect close up, but it works. Ty and I got the lamp shade one weekend when we went to the Peddler's Mall in O-town for like $2. Pretty good looking $4 lamp, don't ya think?? :)

I hope that you have a wonderful birthday weekend at the lake!! You are an amazing sister, woman, daughter and mother! You've raised two beautiful and smart little girls, who really aren't so little anymore. You're so independent, smart and strong willed! I'm VERY, very proud to call you my sister! I love you very much!!

Thank you for all that you've done for me throughout the years. You're a very special person to me!! Even though I live in Kentucky and will be marrying a Kentuckian, I will always cheer on the Hoosiers!

Taco Casserole

I tried a new recipe a few weeks ago and I had to share it because I think it turned out REALLY good.

My friend, Danielle came over to watch the series finale of The Hills with me. Neither of us really watched this season, but when we actually did watch the show we used to watch it together a lot, so it only seemed right to watched the finale together.

So, anyway, I told Danielle if she drove all the way to O-town to watch it that I would make dinner for her, so I did. and she really liked it too!

I found the recipe on some website, probably a blog, i don't really remember. It was super easy to make and SUPER, super good. It kind of reminded me of Mexican pizza. mmm!!!

Okay, here's the recipe! Enjoy!

16 oz. taco sauce

12 ounce can buttermilk biscuits

4-6 ounces shredded cheddar cheese

4-6 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese

1 can sliced olives, drained

1 pound ground beef ( I used ground turkey. :))

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon cumin (don't have this, so I didn't use it)

1/4 cup red bell pepper, chopped

1/4 cup green bell pepper, chopped

8 ounces mushrooms, sliced

Preheat oven to 400F. Lightly grease a 13x9 inch baking dish. Spread taco sauce evenly over bottom of dish.

Separate dough into 10 biscuits. Cut each biscuit into 4 pieces. Place biscuit pieces in hot sauce, turn to coat. Sprinkle biscuits with half of the cheese and the olives. Bake for 15-18 minutes.

In a large skillet, combine ground beef, peppers, mushrooms, cumin and chili powder. Cook until ground beef is cooked through.

Sprinkle the ground beef mixture over the baked biscuit mixture. Top with the remaining cheese.

Bake an additional 5-7 minutes, until cheese is melted.
