My 100th Post!!!!

Wow! 100 posts.

Dang.

It only took me a year and a half. haha

Well I figured since it's almost Thanksgiving that I should do a little, "what I'm thankful for" list.

So, here ya go...

1. I'm thankful for my fun, crazy, lovable, encouraging and supportive fiance.

2. I'm thankful for my amazing family and friends.

3. I'm thankful for my job(s) that allow me to pay my bills and save some money for my wedding.

4. I'm thankful to have a safe car to drive (minus some tire issues) and a nice house (minus some furnace and refrigerator issues) to live in. Nothing's perfect.
5. I'm thankful for my good health.

6. I'm thankful for my little furbabies that keep me company at night and happy all the time.

7. And last but not least, I'm thankful for Starbucks Peppermint Mocha. It makes my holiday season bright. :)

Happy (early) Thanksgiving everyone!!! Gobble Gobble

STD's!!!

haha nooooo, not THOSE STD's.

Save The Dates. :)

Our Save The Dates, or STD's for short, are done and travelling around the country today, or at least the midwest mostly.

I got them designed and printed by my friend, Tonya, who is a graphic designer and her fam owns a printing company.

I heart them!! And I hope everyone else will too.

Wanna see???

Here's the front:

And this is the back:

We did them postcard style and I think they turned out great!!!! Our wedding is a little over 5 months away and we've been engaged for 16 months already. You would think it would already feel "real", but it really didn't. Not until I got these. NOW it feels real!!! AHHH, I can't wait!!

So, do you all like them?? :)

Wedding Hair

So I know I have plenty of time to decide how I want to wear my hair on my wedding day, but it's still fun to look and get some ideas.

I know I want to wear it all the way up because my hair is very fine and thin and it does not hold curl so well and I don't want to be stressin' about my hair all day, ya know??

So, I've been looking online for some ideas and here's what I've come up with...

I just think this looks so classy and elegant. Just a very pretty look.

I'm not sure I love this one from the front, but I love it from the side. I love the little "poof" in the back. I think having bangs down in the front would drive me crazy though.

There's something about this that I just love. I don't have a middle part and I wouldn't want the curly things in the front, but I love how much body it has and the curls in the back.

And this one is my FAVORITE!! I always love how Carrie Underwood wears her hair, so I'm not surprised that I love this. My bangs will be much longer than this by the time I get married (I actually think they already are) so this side won't so much look like this, but it could be similar. I just LOVE this. I found pictures of this from every angle pretty much...so I'll share. What do you think??

Pretty, right??? Ah, I love it. Right now. Who knows. I'll probably change my mind. But that's what hair trials are for, right?? :)

Oh and going along with the hair theme, I think I want my nieces, my Junior Bridesmaids, to wear their hair like this. Love the braid!!

Waiting Patiently...

...to see our Engagement pictures!!!!
I am DYING waiting to see our pics. Our photogs said it would be 4-6 weeks and this Sunday it will be 3. I was hoping we would get to see them earlier...but I don't know.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this weekend. My photogs both have full-time jobs along with the photography stuff, so I know they are busy and they've been out of town this whole week...soooo...maybe this weekend. :)
Just gonna keep my fingers crossed.
That is all. Happy Thursday. :)

30 Day Blog Challenge: DAY 30!!!!

I made it to the end!!! I wasn't always on time, but here we are.

Day 30: A Picture

I chose a picture of this yummy, delicious Peppermint Mocha creamer because it is my ABSOLUTE favorite creamer ever! AND my favorite drink at Starbucks. I got one last friday for the first time this holiday season.
And It. Was. A. MAZING!!! I could drink one every day, but since I don't need to spend $4+ on coffee everyday, I buy this in bulk.
No seriously. :) I love this stuff.

I should probably write Coffee Mate and see if they will start making it all year round. It's too good to only have in the winter. :)

Plus it really starts to get me in the Christmas spirit. Yay. I love this time of year!

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 29

Day 29: Three Wishes
I wish...
1. ...to have a incredible wedding day with an incredible marriage to follow.
2. ...that someday I figure out what my "passion" in life is and I can find a career that fits that passion.
3. ...that Kidd Kraddick would call out my initials (L & K) one morning this week so I can have a chance to win $1,000. :)

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 28

Day 28: Something That Stresses You Out

I should say the woes of owning a home, but Ty just called and said the refrigerator was fixed, so Yay!!!

So, I guess I'll say "paying for a wedding" stresses me out. We're getting some help from my mom and step-dad and also my dad, but the rest is on Ty and I. That's why I got a second job. I'm not trying to have a crazy elaborate super expensive wedding, but I do want a nice wedding with a 320 person guest list, so that cost a lot!!

Before I got the job at Johnny B's I was super stressed about how we were going to pay for our wedding, but now after being there a month and making some extra cash (that I have no spent a penny of, yay!) I'm starting to stress less. I'm still stressing, just not as much. It'll all work out. :)

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 27

Day 27: Pets

**Disclaimer: These pictures are from my phone, so they aren't the best...I apologize. You can still see their cuteness. :)

I have the 2 best pets ever, Lexie and Baxter, my cute little kitties. Well not, kitties, they are 3 and 4 years old now. They are my babies. That's for sure.

I got Lexie for Ty for his birthday in 2007 when she was just 6 weeks old. She was the cutest little black fur ball. She's definitely Ty's baby, but she loves me too. Sometimes. She's definitely a little princess and acts like one often. She's a cat, so she can be a brat, but she's my brat, so I love her. :)

Baxter was found by my parents Easter weekend 2008. He was walking around outside their house and he was so friendly, they knew he had to belong to someone. They brought him into their garage, but they have 2 cats and they were going crazy just knowing there was a cat in the garage. So Sunday after Ty and I came over for Easter, we said we would take him home and keep him until someone claimed him. And we still have him, so obviously no one claimed him!!
Baxter can be a bit of a pill sometimes...he's always trying to sneak out the door when someone is coming or going. And he sometimes has a problem marking his territory. Usually on Ty's stuff...he's not a fan. But he's a cuddler and my baby, so he's staying. :)

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 26

I'm so behind...oops!

Day 26: A Picture of Your Family

(I'm using the same one as Krystal... :) Shh!!)

This is the most recent family pic that we have. It's from our vacation this past spring in Gulf Shores.

Right to left is Ty, Me, my step-brother-in-law, Mike, step-sister, Katie and nephew Nate, my step-dadGerry, my Mom, Brenda, my sister, Michelle and her daughter Kelsey, then my other sister, Krystal and Michelle's youngest daughter, Madison.

We usually take a family picture every Christmas Eve-Eve too, but this past year Ty had to work so he didn't get to go. :( So here is one from a few years ago...I think 2007. :)

Homeowner Woes...

Sometimes being a homeowner is no fun at all!!!!
I got home from work yesterday and there is a puddle of water right by the refrigerator. I asked Ty if he made a mess and he said that I had left the freezer open apparently. hmm...I don't think I did, but okay, maybe I did. So I open the freezer and there is a ton of water just puddled at the bottom of the freezer and it's dripping from the ice machine. So I clean up the water and dump all the ice.
This morning I was getting ready for work and Ty said that the freezer wasn't leaking anymore. Great! I go downstairs to make my coffee and get some soup to take to work and when I put the soup back in the fridge, I realize it doesn't feel very cold and neither does anything else in the fridge. OH. NO.
It sounds like it's still kind of running, but apparently it just isn't keeping anything cold. And that is why the ice was melting. Not because I left the freezer open. (See, I knew I didn't leave it open.)
So anyway, I try to save a few things and bring 2 gallons of milk, my creamer (it's Peppermint Mocha, I can't let that go bad!!!), turkey and cheese to work to put in the refrigerator here to hopefully save some stuff. Too bad our 3 bags of chicken and 3 lbs of ground beef will all have to be thrown away....Ugh.
So, Ty called somebody to come and look at it, so hopefully they can get by there today and Ty will here them knock or they'll call and wake him up. Trying to get things fixed at your house whenever one person works 45 mins away in a totally different state and the other works 3rd shift, is not so easy...
Joys of owning a home. :(
Happy Monday...

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 25

Day 25: iPod Shuffle

Okay, so I have an iPod Nano that Ty got me for my birthday when we first started dating and there are ALL KINDS of songs on there. Random songs. But I don't have that with me and I only have a few songs on my iPhone (random songs too), but I'll put that on Shuffle anyway and see what pops up.
Here we go...
1. Britney Spears - Blur
2. Britney Spears - Kill the Lights
3. Dem Franchize Boyz - Lean Wit It, Rock Wit it
4. Nickelback - Far Away
5. Britney Spears - Womanizer
6. Kelis - Bossy
7. Carrie Underwood - Change
8. LeAnn Rimes - Something's Gotta Give
9. Field Mob & Ciara - So What
10. Young Joc - I Know You See It
haha, I told you it was random. I really need to buy some new songs...

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 24

Day 24: Something You've Learned
Well I'd like to think in my 26 years I've learned quite a few things, but here are some of the really important things...
Life really ISN'T fair.
Your mom really does know best, usually...
Everything happens for a reason.
I have amazing friends and an incredible family.
You're metabolism slows down as soon as you get your college diploma in hand. :)
Weddings are EXPENSIVE.
Sometimes just a hug or kiss from your fiance makes everything better.
I'm extremely lucky to have 2 sisters who are also my best friends.
A career and a job are two totally different things.
Things aren't handed to you, you have to work hard to get what you want.
And lastly, I've learned that getting up early is for the birds. :)

I ordered my WEDDING GOWN!!!!

Last Friday, my mom met me at a bridal shop in Newburgh to order my dress. I, of course, had to try it on again. :) But I had good reason, the last time I went my sister, Krystal and my friend, Danielle came with me and I put a crinoline skirt underneath it to give it a little more poof. Trust me, it needs it! :)

I love it!! Didn't want to take it off. So, we got it ordered and it should be in in about 4 1/2 months!! That's the middle of March!! EEK!!! hopefully it comes in earlier...but even if it doesn't, I think we'll be fine. I just need to have it hemmed a smidge, a bustle put in and then my crinoline skirt to be sewn into the dresas and that's it! No biggie! I don't think...

So anyway, I thought it would be fun to show some of the dresses that I tried on and liked a lot, but just didn't make the cut, so here we go...

This was one of the first dresses I ever tried on and I LOVED it!! (Not in this color, in white) I added a belt to it and it was gorgeous! I felt teeny tiny in it, it was great! EXCEPT...I could barely walk in it. I couldn't move my legs from the knees up. haha It would be extremely hard to dance in and I plan on doing a lot of that at my wedding...so this one wasn't it...

This was one that I tried on during my dress shopping EXTRAVAGANZA! I really, really liked this one and so did a lot of the people with me, but on the back it does that same beading out on the booty and it reminded me of cat whiskers, and I just couldn't have cat whiskers on my booty on my wedding day. :)

I had been eyeing this one for a while, so I was really excited to try it on!! The only thing I didn't love about this was that the whole thing was tulle and lots of layers of tulle means added width to the body and I just wasn't feeling that. I loved everything else about it though...

I liked this one better without the strap, but I didn't LOVE it. Didn't do much for me. Just wasn't the ONE.

This dress is so pretty in the picture, but once I had it on, I just felt like there was TOO much dress at the bottom. And it didn't have enough sparkle for me.

I love, love, LOVED this dress. It was shimmery, and sparkly and fitted. BUT it made me feel like I had no shape. I felt straight up and down in it. And I'm not straight up and down, I have some curves and I wanted to show them off. So this just wasn't "it". And good thing too because it was over the budget. :)

So, there are some of my maybes...but not the ONE!! You'll have to wait about 6 months to see that one!!! :)

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 23

Day 23: Favorite Vacation

I've taken quite a few vacations over the years, with family and with friends.

With the family, I've been to...
Panama City, FL
Gatlinburg, TN
Ft. Myers, FL
Key West, FL
South Carolina/North Carolina

With friends and friends' families...
somewhere in Texas near the border (haha it was like 12 years ago...I can't remember)
Cruise to the Caribbean

With friends...
Panama City Beach, FL (SB '03) hahaha
Southern Cali

But my favorite vacation by far is our most recent family vacation to Gulf Shores this past April. My whole family and Ty went for a week! It was a blast!!! It was Ty and I's first real vacation together and the first vacation in a while that all of us sisters went on together.

There were 11 of us, so we had 2 condos. My parents, nieces, and step-sister, Katie and her husband and Nate were all in one and then me, Ty, and my two sisters, Michelle and Krystal were in another!

We went to the pool everyday and went out to dinner and maybe did go-carts or shopped every evening. We played games one night and just hung out. It was so relaxing and just so much fun!! I can't wait to do it again!

But more than anything, I'm looking forward to Ty and I's honeymoon in a little over 6 months!!!!! YAY!!!

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 22

Day 22: Favorite City

Hmmm...this one is kind of hard. I really like Evansville, where I'm from, but if I had the choice to move somewhere else I think I would love to live in Nashville.

I started going to Nashville when I was younger with my family. We would go to Opryland, when it was still there, and visit the Opryland Hotel.

My step-sister, Katie, and her husband, Mike and little boy, Nate live in Franklin which is right outside of Nashville, so we try to go there often to visit them.

When I was in college at Murray, Nashville was about 2 hours away, so we took some trips there a few times.
I've been there for bachelorette parties.

21st birthday celebrations

Girls weekend and a Titans/Colts game! Go Colts!!!

Saw a Justin Timberlake concert!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bought my car there with the help of my step-dad, Gerry.

And saw Tyrone Wells in a little bar there as well.

Nashville is just a great city!!! I love LOVE to visit, but could definitely enjoy living there as well...maybe some day. :)

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 21

Day 21: Picture of Yourself

These are kind of random pictures of me, but I don't really have a ton of JUST me. So here we go....

Out on the lake this summer doing what I love best...sun bathing!

At the Rascal Flatts concert earlier this year.

Christmas last year with my camera from Ty.

Christmas 2009 with my ornament from my parents.

Last summer a week after I got engaged being silly.

My birthday in California 2008.

On our road trip to Cali we saw LOTS of trains. And I had a mild obsession of trains as a child, so I had to get my picture taken with them. :)
