Cake

Ty's not a huge sweets person like I am, but yesterday was his birthday and you can't have a birthday without cake, so I decided to add his favorite candy to a cake...Reese's. Well, Twix might be his favorite, but Reese's are a close second and since I was making the cake and he didn't know anything about it, I made the final decision. And that decision was Reese's.

Anyway, back to the reason for this post...cake. Chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and Reese's. Oh and 3-0 candles, for my little 30 year old husband. :)

It looks a little something like this...

 YUM!!!

We finally got to try it tonight since Ty is finally home, and it was pretty good. It could have used double the frosting, but this way I saved myself a couple of calories. haha What am I saying? This cake was calorie free. Because I said so. :) What? It doesn't work like that? haha oh well. It's birthday cake. Who cares how many calories it has.

Alright, I'm going to go eat another piece of cake. Happy almost Friday!

Ty is THIRTY!!!!!

This super HOT guy is 30 today!!! My HUSBAND is THIRTY!!! That's just crazy!! Not that 30 is old to me at all, but to think that he was 23 when we first met and started dating and now it's 7 years later, and he's 30!! Wow, time flies!!!

I'm so happy to get to celebrate another birthday with this incredible guy that I call my husband! Well, I guess we'll celebrate tomorrow since he is still in Florida with his dad. haha I know he's having a great time and I'm sure he's happy to be spending his birthday fishing in sunny Florida, but I am SO ready for him to come home!! It's weird not getting to see him on his birthday...but anyway, this is so not about me. haha sorry, got sidetracked.

Back to the birthday boy...Happy 30th Birthday John Tyler Porter!! I love you and am blessed to get to celebrate YOU today (and everyday!)

LOVE YOU boo! ;)

Weekend Update

Well my weekend was FULL of It Works! and food apparently...

Friday:

My friend, Lindsey, who got me started as a Distributor with It Works!, had a wrap party Friday night in Corydon. She said there was going to be quite a few people there that wanted to get wrapped, so she asked if I would come to help. Since Ty is in Florida and I didn't have any plans, I went! It was a good party! Lots of wraps sold, a couple of new customers and even a party or two booked, I believe! Woo Hoo Linds!!

That was over about 8:30, so I followed her to her husband's co-worker's house to watch the UK/IU game. There were a good amount of IU and UK fans there and food and my favorite, sugar cookies!!!! How yummy do these look?? Let me just tell you, they were DELICIOUS!!!!

Anyway, the game was really good and the CATS won! The hubby was definitely excited about that. Now they are in the Final Four with Louisville!! Go Cats! (Sorry Gerr Bear!)

Saturday:

I slept in, well as late as Izzy would let me sleep. Little fart. So I got up and ate some breakfast and just lounged for a little bit. Then I packed up my bags and tanned and then headed to Evansville. I got to my parents a little after noon and hung out with Mom while she trimmed the grass around the sidewalks and landscaping. She wore me out just watching her. Then we ran to get some frozen yogurt at Sweet CiCi's because I had never been there. It was really good!! We got home and got ready for Michelle's Wrap party. Got over there about 5:30 and it went really well! I think we wrapped 7 ladies and had some pretty good results! Mom and I left there and we met Gerry at home, then went up to the Mexican restaurant they always go to. It was fun! and yummy! Got back to Mom and Gerry's and got my stuff all organized for my next party and crashed.

Sunday:

Mom and Widget woke me up when breakfast was ready...pancakes!! YUM!! (Why has so much of my weekend consisted of yummy food?!?!?! haha wow.) Anyway, Mom and I ate and then I showered and got ready. Lindsey met me at M&G's and we headed to IL to Anne's house for her Wrap Party. Lindsey and I had a great time just chatting the entire drive there! We got there right in time for the party. Wrapped 6 ladies at this one and it went really well! Had some good inches lost and everyone was interested in getting some products!! Can't beat that! We visited with Anne a little longer and then we headed out. Stopped and got some food and coffee and then we were on our way. After 1 gas stop and 2 potty breaks, we were finally back in Evansville by  8:15. I visited with Mom and Gerry for a second and then headed home to my kitties.

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend, I am definitely ready for my hubby to be home... :(

CLEAN CAR!

I don't want to say nothing makes me happier than a clean car, but I will say having a clean car makes me very, very, VERY HAPPY!!!!!! And I love when it's nice enough that I can hand wash it myself at my house! She looks pretty good, doesn't she?

Also, since my car was finally clean, I got to put on my new monogrammed decal that Katie got me for Christmas! Yes, my car has not been washed since Christmas. Well, actually, I think it has been washed once since then, but still, it's the middle of March, that's bad!

So anyway, here it is. I think it looks adorable!!! :)

Happy Tuesday!! :)

Weekend Wrap Up

Friday:

Ty had to go into work early, so I came home and woke him up. Once he left, I left and ran to the mall to look around, for fun. Tried on a few bathing suits, not sure I'm quite ready for that yet, mentally and physically. haha Anyway, I looked around for a while and found this cute dress. I didn't get it, but I still might go back. I think it looks like a good honeymoon dress, unfortunately I don't have another honeymoon to go on this year. :( Bummer!
Anyway, I left there and ran and got Ty and I some dinner from Salsarita's to take to him to work. I sat in his office with him from about 8:45-11. It was fun! I got to see what he does and then I "graded" the NCAA brackets that they have going. haha It was fun! But I can see why teachers don't love grading. It got old quickly.

Saturday:

Ty was going to Hopkinsville to play golf and I needed to take Izzy to the vet to get the rest of her shots and schedule her spay/declaw/amputation. :( Not excited about that at all. She's going in Monday, April 2nd. I know she'll be fine, but I'm still sad about it.

I got home and was hungry! I found a recipe that I had printed off a while back for chocolate chip scones, so I made those. Umm, YUM!!!
Then, since Ty took my car to Hoptown, I had is and it was completely disgusting, so I decided to clean it out. This is 20 times better then what it looked like!!!

After doing that, I cut the crazy vines in the backyard a little bit. Luckily, one of the neighbor boys raked up some of the leaves and bagged those for us and another one mowed our lawn. Ty got home and we both showered and made a pizza and watched some of the NCAA tournament. Baxter watched with us too. haha

Sunday:

Mom decided to save the day and come help us work on our crazy of a mess backyard! She got over a little after 10 and after playing with her grand"fur"babies, we got outside and got started. Ty dug up the stepping stones that were out front (that had pretty much completely sunk in the ground) and put out some other big stepping stones to replace those, I think they look great! Then mom and I started pulling weeds and raking up OLD leaves. Moved a bunch of rocks. Dug up some random things that I don't think have grown since we moved in. We moved all the rocks from around the little pond that filled all that in with dirt. Ty cooked us lunch so we came in and ate at one point, and then he ran to Home Depot and got some landscaping fabric stuff. (I think it's supposed to help from the weeds taking over, I'm not really sure. Sorry Mom. :)) So anyway, after many MANY hours of hard work, we finished by cleaning off the patio and sitting down for some Sixlets. :) haha It's not completely done and I hope to get some mulch soon, but I think it looks wonderful!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU Mom for all of your help today!!! :)

FINALLY!!!!

WE HAVE INTERNET AT OUR HOUSE!!

It's about darn time!!! haha I feel so into technology right now getting to update my blog sitting on my couch on my laptop that isn't plugged into a router. haha

So, just a quick little update:

I found this cute little baby in the parking lot at my work about 5 weeks ago. She had a brace on her arm, so I took her to the vet and sure enough, she had broken her leg and it healed back incorrectly. Long story short, we couldn't find her owner, she now belongs to us and her name is Izzy. She will unfortunately have to have her right front arm amputated soon, which I am not looking forward to AT ALL, but I know she will do great! She's a little cuddler too and everyone knows I love that. I tell Ty I'm her favorite, but he argues with me. He can't be all of our 3 cats favorite. haha

I also accidentally got my hair chopped off. I'm sure this isn't chopped off to most, but to me it is! It was so long too. I'm so ready for it to grow back!!!!

And last but not least, I just got started as a Distributor for a company called It Works! They are best known for their Ultimate Body Applicators. A targeted applicator that you can place anywhere that you want to tone, tighten, and firm starting in as little as 45 minutes!!! It's a great product and I've had a few parties so far that have been pretty successful! I have quite a few more parties already scheduled and some more people that plan to have parties too! I'm very excited about it!! It's fun! and I'm making a little extra money, which isn't terrible. :)

So that's what I've been up to! I'm excited to get back to blogging again! I've missed this.
