Cruz: 10 Month Update

Milestones:

• "Played" in the snow for the first time
• Went on a road trip to Illinois to visit Anne, Zander, Breck, Tonya, Sadie, & Annalise
• Swung in a swing for the for the first time
• Went to our first college basketball game to watch the Evansville Aces and Witchita State
• Learned how to clap
• Celebrated his first Valentine's Day (Mommy and Daddy were his Valentines) :)
• And finally got his first tooth!!!
• Still army crawling like a champ!

Cruz Tyler: 9 Months Old

Cruz: 9 Month Update

 

(I'm so late posting this, it's embarrassing, but I know I'll regret it if I never do!) 

• Celebrated his first Christmas, actually celebrated it about 6 times! Whew! It was a lot, but he had a blast!
• Said MaMa for the first time on New Years Day! Best little sound ever!
• Starting to army crawl. Uh oh! Time to baby proof!
• Can turn himself in a circle while sitting up
• Waves hi and bye, sometimes
• Says DaDa, bye bye, and MaMa...sometimes. Mostly DaDa.
• Tried yogurt for the first time and LOVED it. Starting doing more baby food again and he seems to like it now. Solids still make him gag, so we're holding out on those
• Loves to arch his back and throw his head back when he's mad...yeah, that's not fun...

Cruz Tyler: 8 Months Old

Cruz: 8 Month Update

 

***I'm so behind on posting these, it's embarrassing... :/ 

 

Milestones:

• Shakes his head "no, no, no" constantly!
• Celebrated his first Thanksgiving
• Participated in his first "Cookie Day"!
• Tried green beans, carrots, apples, oranges, mashed potatoes, waffle, biscuit and puffs. Almost everything made him gag, except for the green beans and puffs. But after a few too many puffs, he did get sick. He'll get this eating thing someday.
• Can pretty much sit up on his own, with an occasional fall backwards
• Says "Dada, Gaga, Baba and huh" all the time. Still working on Mama 
• Met Santa and took a super cute picture with him. Didn't cry at all! But I don't think he really had any idea who was holding him, so it worked out!

Cruz Tyler: 7 Months Old

Cruz: 7 Month Update

 

 

Milestones:

 

• Sitting up for a few seconds on his own, but still not completely independent
• Says "DaDa" or "GaGa" all the time! I try to get him to say "MaMa" and it comes out GaGa. Close enough. I'll let daddy be the lucky one. :)
• Tried prunes, pears, butternut squash and bananas. Was okay with all of them, but liked the bananas best.
• Tried a green bean and gummed it for a while.
• Still rolling from back to belly easily and belly to back a little more, but not that often
• Turning himself in a circle while on his belly
• Put himself to sleep a few times at night time. Woo hoo!!! This was a big deal for mommy
• Got an amber teething necklace and I feel like it's really helped.
• Loves to shake his head "no, no, no". I can usually get him to copy me doing it too and it's so cute!
• Celebrated his first Halloween, as Maverick from Top Gun, by just hanging out at Mimi & PawPaw's giving out Halloween candy to trick-or-treaters (Daddy was working)
• Will put out his hands to have you pick him up or hold him (so sweet!)
• Still loves bouncing like a fool in his jumperoo

I know I said this last month, but this month has been my favorite with Cruz!! He just gets more and more personality every day and it just so much fun to be around! How this little bitty boy that can't even say real words is so much fun, I have no idea, but he really is the best!

And then here he is in his actual Halloween costume, Maverick, from Top Gun! OMG! Is he not just the cutest?!?! Ah, I could just eat him some! So freaking adorable!!!!!! 



I dressed him up long enough to take some pictures and hand out candy to a few trick-or-treaters at my Mom and step-dad's house. I would keep him in this outfit and shades forever if I could. He's just so cute!! (biased, I know. :))

As much as I wish he would stay little, he gets more and more fun everyday!!! And bigger!! I love this stage that we're in right now. Interactive, but not mobile! Can he stay like this forever?? ha!

Happy 7 Months, baby boy!!! You are so loved and we are so lucky to call you our little boy! Life would be so boring without you!

Cruz Tyler: 6 Months Old

Cruz: 6 Months Old

 

 

 

And just like that, our baby boy is HALF A YEAR old!!!! How is that even possible??? This has been the best, quickest, most tiring, but most rewarding 6 months of my entire life. I never knew this little boy could hold such a BIG place in my heart. Although I haven't had a solid night of sleep since the day he was born, it's totally worth it. He won't always want me in the middle of the night, so I'm going to take advantage of it while I can. And drink lots of coffee in the process. :)
 

Milestones:

 

• Bounces like a champ in his bouncer and when he's standing in your lap
• Sitting up ALMOST all by himself. Can at least balance for a few seconds, so I call that a win
• Has found his voice and loves to squeal!
• Tried sweet peas, carrots, and avocado. Only somewhat liked the carrots
• Rolled over from his belly to back once. Still not so good at that, but rolls from back to belly pretty much the second you put him on his back.
• Went to Lake Cumberland for the weekend with daddy's family and saw his first waterfall
• "Camped" with mommy's family at Audobon State Park
• Graduated to the big seat in the stroller and not his car seat (Big step for mom!)
• Working really hard on cutting a tooth. We think we can kind of feel one on the bottom, but nothing has popped through yet.

I think I said this last month, but this month has been the most fun so far!!! Cruz is really starting to develop his personality and he is so fun! And so darn cute!! I mean, I could just go on and on and on about how great he is! My heart could just explode with how much love I have for him!

This month we also experienced a loss in our family with the passing of my grandpa, my mom's dad. He was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago, and his health had been going up and down since. In the last few months it just kept going down. On Friday, October 1st, they brought in Hospice to their home because breathing had become so hard for him and he's so bullheaded, he didn't want to stay at the hospital. :) That next day, SAturday 10/2, Cruz and I were in Indiana for a baby shower and my mom called to tell us we should probably come out to see Grandpa because he wasn't doing well at all. We did and I'm so glad. He lit up when he saw Cruz and it was probably one of the best moments I've experienced with my Grandpa. He talked to him a little bit and reached for his hand. It was so sweet. That night, he passed away. I'm so thankful I got to see him one last time and that Cruz did too. I know he won't remember him at all, but I'll be sure to remind him of his Grandpa Mo and how much he loved to tease us about "eatin' ice cream."

But Cruz was totally the star of the show at the visitation and I think it helped to have him around to keep everyone's spirits up. I know he helped me. :) He's just so cute and sweet, you can't help but smile when you're around him.:)
