Like my new pic?? :) It's from Halloween last year. Ty wasn't too excited about dressing up for Halloween, so I told him to just put on his hunting stuff and go as a hunter. Worked for him. So he was a hunter and I, of course, was a cat. My cat. Lexie. :)

Okay, that's all. Happy early Halloween!!

Move Over HGTV! Here I Come! :)

I finished the headboard!! Yay!! Well I actually finished it last Thursday, but I'm just now getting around to taking pictures and posting about it. I know you all are dying to see it, so for your viewing pleasure, this is the before:

I know you are asking yourself, "Why ever would she want to cover that gorgeous circa 1992 black and gold headboard with the lovely mirror?" Well I will tell you why...I'm crazy, that's why. haha It is rather different, but I just wasn't feeling it.

So I decided to do a little HGTV action, thanks to the idea from my friend, Sarah. I went to Hobby Lobby and got some 1 inch foam, some foam glue, and 2 yards of fabric and I was ready to go.

I cut the foam to fit the headboard and glued all around the mirror on the black part. Let it sit all night with books on top. The next night I started with the fabric. I had some small white tacks from the college days and just used those and a hammer and started hammering away. I started at the top and just worked my way around. It kind of has some bubbles at the bottom where it didn't get totally flattened out. But since I did this all by myself and that headboard weighs a ton, I'm happy with it. I think it's a rather nice improvement.

Here's the finished product:

You can tell there that it's not perfect, but oh well, it's do-able.

Close up of the fabric.

And the totally finished product. :) Much, much better! Please come have a spend-over whenever you'd like. This beautiful bed is waiting for you. :)

Wedding Weekend

This past weekend, Ty and I had two weddings to attend. The first one was one of his friends from high school, Kelley. I've met and hung out with his fiance, Rendi a few times and I really like her. I'm also really excited that she just moved to Owensboro with Kelley. Woo Hoo!! Another girl to hang out with. Thank goodness! I feel like I'm always surrounded by boys at home, so I'm very happy to have another girl to hang out with. :)

So, their wedding was first in Auburn, KY, about an hour and 15 mins south of O-town. So we headed down there for their 3:30 wedding. It was outside at a bed and breakfast. It was a little chilly and overcast, but it turned out to be a great day. The ceremony was short and sweet. Possibly one of the shortest weddings I've been to. But it was wonderful and now they are Mr. and Mrs. Kelley Jordan. :)

We didn't stay for the reception. It was another 45 mins or so south of Auburn, so it would have been a late night if we went there and I wouldn't have been able to go to the second wedding/reception in Owensboro.

So we headed back home. Ty decided to stay home and take a little nap since he hadn't slept since the previous day, so I met up with Krystal, Danielle, Lindsey, Lacy and Becca and Todd at Alan Rowe's reception, a friend from Murray. It was a lot of fun. We were definitely the life of the party there, well besides the bride and groom of course! I was surprised to see two guys from college that lived in Richmond with us at the reception. I haven't seen them in years! Finally by 11:30 or so, we decided to leave. Danielle, Lindsey and Krystal all came back to Ty and I's house and we had a little slumber party. It was a really good time!

Haha, Love this!!

Us girls with Dan and Eric. Good to catch up with these boys!

Amazing Realization!

So I was doing a little wedding blog surfing earlier and found one that had a giveaway for this fun date framed picture thing. In order to win you had to comment and tell them your favorite date (like day of the year). So I go to fill it out and I of course put the day Ty and I got engaged: July 5, 2009 = 7.5.09. And then it hit me. This big ole lightbulb went off in my head. We're about 99% sure on our date, as long as we can get the church or wherever we plan to get married and the reception hall on that date, that's our date. Well the date we've picked out as I said before in one of my first blogs is May 7, 2011 = 5.7.11. See it? May 7. July 5. 5-7. 7-5. It's just flip-flopped. How fun is that??? :) I know, I'm a dork. But that just made me really excited. I wanted my wedding date to have a significance. And now it totally does. :) It makes me happy. So happy that I immediately ran over to my friend at work's cube, Sarah, to tell her. She laughed, but thought it was fun too. Then I called Mom, and she laughed too. haha It's fun to me!!

And as always, here's a funny picture to end the blog. This is from the Koester Christmas party last year. I feel like it describes our relationship pretty well. Me=excited. Ty=annoyed. Haha. Just kidding! We really do love each other! :)

I suck at updating this thing...Just like Michelle...:)

Time to update. Actually I'm way overdue for updating, but oh well, it happens. Nothing too exciting has been going on with me. Still working on Ty to get his guest list figured out so we can start looking at reception halls and narrowing things down. I'd really like to have the reception, and the church (or wherever we decide to get married) and the photographer booked by the end of this year. Don't need them raising their prices on me. :) I really like Dream Copy Photography in Owensboro. He's really affordable and his pictures are great!! Check them out here.

Anyway, nothing new with Ty and I. He's still working all the time. He usually has 1 day off a week, but this weekend he's not so lucky. Of course hunting has started, so he's been going a lot lately. It kind of works out with him with his schedule. He gets off at 5:30 in the morning and changes and goes for a few hours. Or he'll come home and sleep until 4 or so and then go before he's got to go into work that night. Kind of sucks for me b/c I don't really get to see him, but what can you do. At least hunting has a season and it's not all year long. :)

So, since Tucker moved out almost a year ago and left his futon and his old bed we didn't have to worry about getting any furniture. WELL...a few months ago, I think, he got an apt with Jeryn, so he came and got his futon and his bed, so our house has looked very empty. We've been looking around for futons and mattresses and/or beds on craigslist and in the paper and stuff, and we finally got lucky with a bed. My cousin, Jennifer, moved in with her boyfriend so that had a yard sale and were selling a queen sized mattress set and a headboard and frame. So I snatched them up for $30!!! Yes, I am a bargain shopper. :) Well, the headboard is straight out of the 80's or early 90's, I'm not really sure. And leaving it the way it is just isn't going to work for me. So I'm going to try to do a little HGTV action on it and revamp the headboard with some fabric. Not 100% sure what I'm going to do yet, but I'll figure it out. I'm going to try to make it my project for this weekend. I'll take before and after pictures to show you all, b/c I'm sure you dying with anticipation to see it. :)

Alright, well I guess that is all for now. Just thought I would update a little since I hadn't in a while. And here are some pictures of my babies for you all to enjoy. :)
Lex-town!
B-Bax!
My cute little babies napping together.

HAHAHA! This picture just makes me laugh. I guess she
was mad at me for catching her playing in the laundry basket. :)
