I'm OBSESSED...

...with this centerpiece...

Well they used it for the table into the reception, but I would totally use one of these as a centerpiece.

And they're Carnations! Can you believe that?!?! I always thought carnations were cheap looking, but these have changed my mind.

I'm LOVIN' me some dark pink carnations in funky shaped white vases.

I didn't think this was the color pink I wanted to do, but I'm thinking I might now.

Decisions. Decisions.

Good thing I have 465 days to decide. (And no, I'm not counting. I logged onto my knot page today and it told me. But don't go look at that yet either...it's not done.) :)

Felt Heart Wreath

While doing one of my new favorite hobbies one day last week, looking at blogs, I stumbled across a blog called The Idea Room and she had the Ca-utest little Valentine heart wreath. I mean A-Dorable wreath...

So I got inspired and decided I wanted to try to make it.

I went to Jo-Ann's last Friday and got a heart shaped styrofoam wreath, 2 yards of red felt (didn't use it all though), and some regular push pins.

I started working on it Saturday night and finished it last night and I am IN LOVE! How cute is this?!?!

I need to get a little red or white ribbon so I can hang it up, but I just couldn't wait to take pictures and show you all. :)

It was super easy to do and super cheap, only $16. It would've cost me less if I bought less felt, but I forgot how much to get when I got there. I used just a little bit over 3/4 of a yard, I think...
If you want to make one, go here to get the step by step directions.
And another angle just for fun...do you like???

So....

...the furnace fixing people did not call yesterday...Boo!

But thanks to this wonderful couple...my co-worker and carpool buddy, April and her husband, David.
They let us borrow two more space heaters which helped A LOT last night.
BUT, Ty just called and said that the furnace people (I don't know what company he called) will be coming by today at noon. WOO HOO!
Let's hope this is the end of our heat woe's.

Brrrrrr....

So...hopefully we'll be getting this in today...

...a new circuit board for our furnace...And HOPEFULLY that will have fixed the problem!

Everyone keep your fingers crossed...I'm sick of not having heat and packing my bags to stay at my parents house. It's no fun...

I'm not sure I like being a homeowner sometimes...

I'll let you all know if I'm nice and toasty in my own house tonight.

...to be continued...

All about Ton Ton!

So, one of my BEST friends in the entire world, Tonya (aka: Ton Ton, Tonja, T) lives AAALLLLL the way across the country in this little place called Orange County, CA and I don't get to see her nearly as much as I like, so when she makes her way back home to Paris, TN we always try to get together.

Well this year Tonya came home for Christmas, but for a very short time and we didn't really think it would be possible to see her (or that's what Anne and I tried to make her think). All along we knew we would be going down to Paris the day after Christmas for a surprise 25th birthday party her parents were throwing for her. :)
Sneaky, sneaky, we are.
I like it. :)
So anyway, Anne and I decided that we didn't just want to go down there for the party. We wanted to get to hang out with her by ourselves for a little while. (We tend to get a little possessive when it comes to Ton Ton.)
We got up super duper early (like 6 o'clock...that's early for a non-work day) on the Saturday after Christmas to get ready and make the 2 1/2 hour drive down to TN to surprise Tonya in the morning. We got there right around 10:30 and went into the house like we lived there and walked up to the family room where Tonya was watching tv with her dad. We were going to be super quiet and just walk in until she saw us and screamed, but Anne got excited when she saw their dog Buddy, and said "Hi Buddy". Of course Tonya knew the voice, jumped up screaming and gave us hugs. I think she was surprised. :) We're pretty fun people!
So we just hung out all day with Tonya at her parents house. Her mom had planned for her to get a massage by her Aunt Grace to keep her at the house. And Aunt Grace was sweet enough to give Anne and I a little back massage as well. It was WONDERFUL!
The surprise party was later that night at their lake house, so to get her there, we told her we really wanted to go to Murray to eat at Jasmine's and that we really wanted to stay at the lake house that night too. Her dad said it was fine and that we should probably go by there on our way to Murray to turn the furnace on and the hot water because it had been shut off.
Perfect!
So that's what we do. We head to the lake house and go up the stairs to open the door. Tonya can't get the key to turn, so Anne tries. She can't get it either. So I try and can't get it, then realize there's another key on the ring. Ding, Ding, Ding. That's a winner! So I get the door open and hurry up and jump inside and move to the side so she's right in front when they all yell "SURPRISE" and turn on the lights!! She was surprised, AGAIN! And so excited! A few of her college friends were there and a lot of family and friends from Paris. It was a really good time. Tons of food. Good drinks. A little cornhole and just a good time to hang out with everyone.
Here are a few pictures from my camera...
Not really sure why we did this...but not totally surprised that we did...
So typical of us. I love these girls!!! Murray girls at the party...Meredith, Anne, Me, Tonya, Virginia and Tiffany

We have quite a few pictures like this... <3>

Anne. Love her. Miss her lots.

I'm late to this too...

But here's my Christmas blog. I'll start from where I left off...

So we celebrated Christmas with the Koester side on the 19th in Boonville at the Scales Lake Pavilion. Our family is so big, we just don't fit in anyone's house anymore, so we go there instead. Ty actually got to go to this one because he didn't have to work. We had a good time. The Koester family is always a good time. We ate, sang a little song (made up by Justin), was visited by Santa, got a few gifts, and just hung out with the fam. It was nice.

Here's the only pic I took from that day...Me and Ty. :)

The next celebration we had was Christmas Eve Eve at Mom and Gerry's house with them, my sisters, step-sister, neices and nephew. Ty had to work that night, so he didn't get to come. It was the first Christmas Eve Eve since 2006 that he wasn't able to be there and I didn't really like it... :( But he called before we ate and everyone wished him a Merry Christmas! I think he enjoyed that. It was a great time as always!! We had Turoni's this year instead of mom cooking and it was amazing! Who doesn't love pizza?!?! So we ate, drank our traditional Christmas punch and opened gifts. We all got some really great things. I think my favorite was my ornament from Mom and Gerry. How cute is this???

Speaking of ornaments, here's another ornament that I got from Sarah at work that I LOVE! Isn't this adorable too??

So anyway, back to Christmas...on Christmas Eve we went out to my mom's dad's house for lunch and ate tons of food and opened even more presents. The best part of the day was that Heather was home! It was so good to have her back with the family. She's doing really well and I think she enjoyed being home too. Here are a few pictures from that day...
And senior pose....
LOVE this one!!!
Gerr Bear in one of his sweaters Ty and I got him.
Our Mom. :)
Finally, Christmas morning Ty and I got up and drove to his parents house to have breakfast with them and exchange gifts. We both got some really great stuff (and a lot of it, we always do)! One of my favorites that I can't use quite yet are coasters with a "P" on them. :) And also a Chicken Soup for the Bride's Soul book. I'm very excited about that! and have even started reading it already! I think the best part of the day there was when Gracie opened up her gift from Ty and I. We got her and Ipod Touch and I think she was REALLY surprised and excited about it!! I love that!! and I loved the Ipod Touch too...I think I need one now. Oh, Tyyyyyyy... ;). I unfortunately didn't take any pictures there (we need to work on doing that, Anita).

So we left about 2 or so and finally exchanged gifts with just each other. We knew pretty much every thing the we got each other, but oh well. At least we know we like them that way, right? I got a new camera and a few other fun things!!

And I got Ty a bunch of clothes and 2 new pairs of shoes (from Shoe Carnival, of course). These are the new tennie's I got him.
And then of course I had to try out the new camera. So here is our 2009 Christmas pic...Happy Holidays, from Ty and Lindsay! :)

I'm an Awful Daughter...

With Christmas and New Years, it's been a little crazy around here and I didn't get a chance to post about my mom's birthday. Better late than never though, right Mom?? ;)

So, 5 days late, I would like to wish my Beautiful mother a (belated) but VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! I hope you enjoyed your day! I'm glad I got to celebrate with you. You are an Amazing mother and friend to me. I'm not sure what I would do without you. Thank you for always being supportive of me and always being there for me. I'm not sure I would be able to cook a full meal without you. haha Anyway, I love you so much and I can't wait to celebrate 50-some-odd more birthdays with you! :)
